I am behind on blog posts! I am so bad. I know. Forgive me?  Thanks.

I had the pleasure of opening up my spring season with this fabulous family!  Generations of love and good people, seriously! But, I must admit, those sweet kiddos stole the show!

Enjoy!  And a big thank you to this family for not one but two wonderful evenings of shooting!

{Baby B 2/2011} Newborn Photographer, Bonita Springs FL

The second installment to my Diva Day is sweet Baby B.  She and her Momma both were fantastic to work with! She is only 11 days older than baby E and the fantastic thing is these two sweeties have mommas who are friends, so maybe I'll get to nab some older pics too!

For your viewing pleasure, here is Baby B!

{Baby A 1/2011} Newborn Photographer Bonita Springs, FL

I think this little guy stole my heart!  He "talked" to me the whole time.  I forget all the sweetness of the little grunts newborns have.   His mom might be one of the coolest ladies I've ever met.  She was so fun and really cooperative to help with all the posing too.  So to Mrs. A - You are awesome woman!

Here are just a few of Baby A's pics, I think I could have edited this session a hundred times. Their house had this amazing entry with awesome natural light pouring in.. an absolute dream. I've been wondering if maybe I can get my hubby to build me an addition like this to our house... hmmmm.  Maybe a home studio space for the future.  :0)   Anyway, here is the sweet lil man!

THANK YOU to Baby A and his wonderful Momma for spending a sunny afternoon with me!

{Baby G 1/2011 } Newborn Photographer Bonita Springs, FL

This sweet little cupcake was the first session of the New Year!  And she kicked it off with a bang!! So super sweet, she wasn't the biggest fan of being posed, but she was more than willing to snuggle all day!  I'm just glad she gave me a sweet smile before I left. :0)  I plan on seeing her and her parents again for some family portraits.

THANK YOU Baby G and your parents for a wonderful start to the new year!

{The N Family 12/2010} Family Photographer Bonita Springs, FL

I am so behind on Blog updates!  So here we go on catching up!

This awesome family was my last session of 2010!  They were super awesome, and even though it was freezing on the beach they still rocked out the session!
So THANK YOU to the N family!

New fun stuff! {SWFL Photographer, Bonita, Naples, Lifestyle Photographer}

So overly excited about the new iPad my honey bought today. It is supposed to be just a new asset to the house, but seriously this thing is so amazingly awesome for the biz I can't believe it has taken us this long to get one.
Exciting news because of the new iPad purchase, Brooke Price Photography is going to be going paperless! I have already found a fantastic app for accepting payments, including credit/debit without using pay pal. I am so excited about that.
Now just to find the perfect fit for my contracts and I will be good to go!

Had to share in the wonderful news.

On another note, in our world Thanksgiving is in the am, I love this holiday, I adore food. Imagine that! Also I am sporting a fabulous sling on my right arm due to suffering from severe tendinitis. So I will be medicated for the holiday. Not so much fun but I am still thankful for my wonderful family and all that God has blessed me with.

I'll leave you with a couple of pics from the recent quick shoot I did with my lil sugars!

{Actions are NOT scary!}

When I first started Brooke Price Photography, I was terribly intimidated by other artists, mostly because of all the beautiful color they were able to capture, and also I always wondered how in the world they could shoot in some locations with limited equipment, much like myself now.

Then, I found, like all the others, the power of Photoshop Actions. They not only clean up the color and funky color casts that sometimes come up in digital photography, but they have also allowed me to literally "save" a quick shot photo, I would have normally cast off. And some of those random, quick shots have turned into my favorite pictures.  Now lets be honest. 1. I am not a technical genius or guru.  I break a lot of the rules, some because I know to, and others because I am still learning. 2. I'm still trying to find my niche in the photography world, so what I think is beautiful may very well not float your boat. And I'm good with that. I mean, I stamp my name on it after all, not someone elses.

I wanted to give a couple of examples of BEFORE & AFTER pics so you can see the post production.  This is the time consuming stuff you pay a photographer like me for. This is where our eye, our talents, and our flair come out. This is what makes a picture have our unique spin on it.  I prefer rich, vibrant, and bright color, and it shows in my processing.

This was one of those "quick shots" I was talking about earlier.  This little guy was way too cute, but he had tons of energy and none of it was really focused on having his picture made. He did awesome when he needed to be posed, but I love this one, just because its him and all his curious 2 year old self.
This shot was processed using a combination of Pure Photoshop Actions and Paint the Moon Actions.  Both of these sites offer freebies that you can try out before you purchase, but trust me, they both are so very worth every penny!

As you can tell, the before is underexposed. At first glance it would be a cast off, not much to work with, but by using the actions I was able to drop out the shadows, bump up the background color, and add some sparkle!   Now its bright, you can see the little guy clearly, and you get to take in all the yummy buttery bokeh of the background.

Here is another:

I absolutely LOVE this tree canopy, but again my shot was underexposed, I tend to do this on purpose now just because I like to pop it in processing.  Bad habit, I know, but its MINE.  Trees can also cast funky shadows and tend to give you a green color cast.  With Actions I was able to remove all of this. And get the picture I had imagined in my head when I took it in the first place.

Again, this was process using Pure Photoshop Actions and Paint the Moon Actions.

The whole point of this was to show you that the actions are totally customizable, they work for a variety of things, and overall just improve on what you already have!  So, if you were like me and scare of them at first, I hope at least now you are considering checking them out!

God Bless,
 Brooke

Keni is 4!!

I'm only about 3 weeks behind on getting pictures done for my daughter's 4th birthday.  Needless to say, because a camera being around is the norm, she is not really that big of a fan of going to have her pictures taken. Luckily, she was in an especially good "Mommy time" mood.
I love how these turned out. I got to use the chairs I bought last month for the first time, and I got to test a new location.  All in all, a great shoot.  Plus!  There are even a couple of the two of us! I never get Mommy pictures!
Enjoy!

Beach Session with the M family

I had the joy of working with this wonderful family on 5/4.  They were absolutely one of the easiest shoots I have ever had mainly because they were just wonderful people! Two of the cutest kids you've ever seen and for good reason, their parents gave great genes!  It was a pleasure! So Thank You!! To Kaci, Chris, McKenna, and Brayden for an awesome evening on the beach!!  Here's a sneak peek at your shoot!

Where I live...

I have been meaning to post a few photos I took last month.  These are just some shots I was doing to get a feel for a location.
I am always going to be a TN girl, but I have to admit, where I live now is Beautiful!
I hope you all enjoy these, and please comment and follow.  I'm starting to think I'm talking to NO ONE out there.

Three times as Pretty!

I had the joy of photographing 3 gorgeous girls yesterday! They are just the sweetest little ladies, and their Momma, well, she's just a sweetheart too! I know she's anxious to see these, and I was so excited to show a few off that I just had to put them here!
A great big Thank You to Mrs Bri, Madi, Kiki, and Ari!!
