Starting Anew - Bonita Springs FL Photographer

I have officially sent my request to my webhost to go live with the new website!  I am so excited! Santa really came through this year.  The new site has a cleaner appearance, one that you will see reflected here shortly. There are so many things that truly are helping to streamline your online experience with BPP.
Here is a list of a few:
  • Full Screen Mode!!  - thats right, let your beautiful portraits fully invade your screen!
  • New Shopping Cart! -  Now as you look at your images you will be able to access a drop down menu for ordering. No more clicking to favs and then opening the cart. Its all right there ready to go!
  • New Testimony Section! -  If you have had a BPP experience, we want to hear!  You can now do this as simple as leaving a comment! Just hit the Reviews tab and share your story as well as read others.
  • New featured gallery! - Why is it featured? Because these are the images that make my heart swoon. All in one place, so even if you like going to the different galleries, if you don't have time, just stop by here and get a quick peek!
  • WE HAVE A MOBILE PLATFORM! - now you can take a look at BPP from anywhere, anytime!  The site now has a fully accessible, mobile platform that can be viewed from any smartphone!  Viewing from an Apple device?? Bookmark us, we have our own snazzy custom desktop for the iDevices you rock!
  • Proofing Galleries- proofing galleries now support multiple galleries per client. So if you have a Baby Plan you and family can always look through any of the images you have recently had done.  Those of you with Engagement and Wedding galleries can see all the images, and share with your friends while they are active for ordering.
  • Better Contact Interface - a more streamlined process from the moment you hit send until I receive your message and get a reply back to you. Better communication is always a plus!
So as you can see, new things, new changes. A new cleaner more modern look to the Brooke Price Photography brand as well. Overall, I think that you as the client will be greatly pleased with the efforts made here by the BPP family.  Clean, Simple, Efficient, & Fun are all things I want you to think of when visiting our new site!

BPP has a Christmas Wishlist {SWFL, Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs Photographer, Natural Light, On Location, Lifestyle Photographer}

Dear Santa,

As to not be forgotten, BPP has a Christmas Wishlist!!!!  Maybe just maybe Santa, you'll be so kind as to help us out with our business wishes this year.  Its not much, really.  Just a few little things we hold oh so dear.

 1.  A Rosie, Project One or Brooklyn website w/ Iphone Add-on  -  Dear Santa you know, its not fair that our portraits display so small!  This would fix it my Jolly friend! Fix it once and for all!!!!

2.  Easy As Pie - Oh Santa dear, you know its true,  we've been pulling our hair out and feeling quite blue. This little ditty would make it right as rain.  And I believe dear Santa, would ease a lot of strain!

3. The Workshop Workbook -  Santa Baby, you've heard us all year, talk about the amazing work we've seen here!  Skye is an inspiration, a guru dare say, in all things child photography and we'd love to pick her brain!  This my dear, is the easiest and best way!!!!!!

4. Newborn Workshop -  Who doesn't love squishy faces, tiny fingers and toes??? I know we do and we want to capture them even better!  So help Santa in this quest, help to make Newborn Photography one of our Best!!!!

Love,

Christmas is in the air! { Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, SWFL Photographer, Lifestyle Photographer, Natural Light Photography }

Tis the Season!!! I love Christmas! There is nothing better than this time of year. The sights, sounds, smells!!! I already have my Fresh Balsam wallflower from Bath & Body Works plugged in, as well as a Tis the Season candle from there that I have been burning. We don't use a "real" tree, the ones in Florida just don't look as good to me, so I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of anything Fresh Balsam from Bath & Body Works because to me it smells like a fresh cuts Douglas Fir, my fav tree for Christmas.
I have been good this year and have already managed to get a few people bought for already, our kids are always the last because they take the longest and because we don't want them to find their presents. I did pick up the cutest little Moose for them at Build a Bear on Black Friday, they were only $5 a piece!! And the best is that their little antlers are decorated with lights and twinkle when you press their hand. I started a tradition, last year that I plan to continue on until it is a staple in our family, on Christmas Eve we open 1 gift, that gift is a new pair of Christmas Jammies. The whole family gets them, now these Jammies are special. They have magic elf sleeping dust in them, they make sure you sleep nice and snug so that Santa can come sooner. Well, that's what I tell my kids. It may seem silly, but it's ours, and I hope that they will always remember it, and that one day, my grandkids will know about the special Christmas Jammies.
This year I also plan to go to Barnes & Noble and purchase "The Christmas Elf", if you have not hear of this please go look into it. It is a wonderful little thing for more Christmas magic. He's a sweet little elf that comes with a story book. He "watches the behavior of everyone in the house", and each night he reports back to Santa. Now comes the fun part, before your kids get out of bed, you move him to a new spot so that they can see that he has "left and come back". My friend told me about this little guy and I can not wait to make him a staple to the Price Family Christmas!
These are just a couple of the things we are planning to make traditions in our home. What things do you and your family do? What traditions have you carried on that were passed down, what new ones have you started???

New fun stuff! {SWFL Photographer, Bonita, Naples, Lifestyle Photographer}

So overly excited about the new iPad my honey bought today. It is supposed to be just a new asset to the house, but seriously this thing is so amazingly awesome for the biz I can't believe it has taken us this long to get one.
Exciting news because of the new iPad purchase, Brooke Price Photography is going to be going paperless! I have already found a fantastic app for accepting payments, including credit/debit without using pay pal. I am so excited about that.
Now just to find the perfect fit for my contracts and I will be good to go!

Had to share in the wonderful news.

On another note, in our world Thanksgiving is in the am, I love this holiday, I adore food. Imagine that! Also I am sporting a fabulous sling on my right arm due to suffering from severe tendinitis. So I will be medicated for the holiday. Not so much fun but I am still thankful for my wonderful family and all that God has blessed me with.

I'll leave you with a couple of pics from the recent quick shoot I did with my lil sugars!

{Actions are NOT scary!}

When I first started Brooke Price Photography, I was terribly intimidated by other artists, mostly because of all the beautiful color they were able to capture, and also I always wondered how in the world they could shoot in some locations with limited equipment, much like myself now.

Then, I found, like all the others, the power of Photoshop Actions. They not only clean up the color and funky color casts that sometimes come up in digital photography, but they have also allowed me to literally "save" a quick shot photo, I would have normally cast off. And some of those random, quick shots have turned into my favorite pictures.  Now lets be honest. 1. I am not a technical genius or guru.  I break a lot of the rules, some because I know to, and others because I am still learning. 2. I'm still trying to find my niche in the photography world, so what I think is beautiful may very well not float your boat. And I'm good with that. I mean, I stamp my name on it after all, not someone elses.

I wanted to give a couple of examples of BEFORE & AFTER pics so you can see the post production.  This is the time consuming stuff you pay a photographer like me for. This is where our eye, our talents, and our flair come out. This is what makes a picture have our unique spin on it.  I prefer rich, vibrant, and bright color, and it shows in my processing.

This was one of those "quick shots" I was talking about earlier.  This little guy was way too cute, but he had tons of energy and none of it was really focused on having his picture made. He did awesome when he needed to be posed, but I love this one, just because its him and all his curious 2 year old self.
This shot was processed using a combination of Pure Photoshop Actions and Paint the Moon Actions.  Both of these sites offer freebies that you can try out before you purchase, but trust me, they both are so very worth every penny!

As you can tell, the before is underexposed. At first glance it would be a cast off, not much to work with, but by using the actions I was able to drop out the shadows, bump up the background color, and add some sparkle!   Now its bright, you can see the little guy clearly, and you get to take in all the yummy buttery bokeh of the background.

Here is another:

I absolutely LOVE this tree canopy, but again my shot was underexposed, I tend to do this on purpose now just because I like to pop it in processing.  Bad habit, I know, but its MINE.  Trees can also cast funky shadows and tend to give you a green color cast.  With Actions I was able to remove all of this. And get the picture I had imagined in my head when I took it in the first place.

Again, this was process using Pure Photoshop Actions and Paint the Moon Actions.

The whole point of this was to show you that the actions are totally customizable, they work for a variety of things, and overall just improve on what you already have!  So, if you were like me and scare of them at first, I hope at least now you are considering checking them out!

God Bless,
 Brooke

Finally Fall!!

It finally feels like Fall, even here in SWFL! I personally was excited to be inspired to make a pot of beef stew for dinner. Meals like that are hard to get geared up for when it is 90 degrees!!
Between the wonderful temperature, beef stew, & the cinnamon broom I picked up yesterday it feels as close to a TN Fall as I can get!
I am super excited for Holiday Portraits and custom cards this year!!! And just so everyone knows, HOLIDAY portraits will be booked through the 3rd week of November ONLY. Please call or email to insure you get your portraits booked!

Tennessee Part 2 add on

Ok so.... I totally hauled my gear & the AWESOME big orange chair my dad had in his house in the wagon. Yep, up the field behind his house driving the lawn tractor in my boots, a dress, & pearls!!
I am sure if anyone saw me all they were thinking is "Would you look, that weird little girl is back in town."

DEDICATION PEOPLE!

I am happy with the shots. Nothing will be posted until I get back home and can edit, but here's some fun stuff from my phone, like the spot I was working in and a pic of me hauling the gear:

Tennessee Part 2

Red gates, rusted out cars, overgrown fields and the perfect late afternoon sunshine....

I am about to load up the wagon and haul some props and my gear out to gobble up all this goodness! And, with no other subjects today I am going to be playing around with Self Portraits... This should be interesting to say the least. :0)

Tennessee Pt 1

We are having a blast so far! Our flight went well. Jackson Cole did much better than expected to have been his first plane ride. I can only hope it goes as smoothly on our return.
Today we visited with my grandmother and seen my very best friend since 2nd grade, Ashley, and her husband Ben. Tomorrow Kennedy is having a sleepover with their daughter Kaydin. It should be fun for them!
Ooohh! I got a bunch of awesome prop costumes for pictures today! They are some super cute little tutus and acces. Adorable! I can't wait to get them in some pics!!
I walked the grounds of my dad's place and his neighbors land, I have uncovered some awesome locations to shoot while here! You better believe I'll be putting them to use! Not to mention my dad has this unbelievably cool orange wingback chair and ottoman that I CAN NOT WAIT to see in process!! So much stuff, I'm on creative overload!
Alright, that was just day 1! I'm off to bed, we'll see what else I have after tomorrow!

Headed for the Hills!

Tomorrow I leave with my kids to head back to Tennessee! I am excited to visit with friends and family, but this is a bit of a working trip too.
You guys are going to get to see a new side of me, one is the model, lol. I am teaming up with another photographer friend of mine to shoot some Trash the Dress pictures... Of Me!! It is my reward for being able to fit in my wedding dress again :0)
Also, we are going to be shooting some collaborative shoots while there as well. It will be good to put our creative heads together and see what comes of it. I know I am excited!
I will try to blog more while I am there and maybe even get some on location pics while we're shooting.
In the mean time, head over to Facebook.com and check out the fan page for info on how you could win $50 toward a BPP session or print collection, and stop by SMH Photography and check out her work as well!!

Where have I been??

So much has been happening here lately!  I had a couple of shoots.  I worked as an event coordinator for a Free Concert that our church presented to the community. Take the City.  It was AWESOME!
And now, I have been working on a new image and marketing materials for the business.  Super busy, but well worth it.

Brooke Price Photography now offers Gift Certificates!  You can purchase them in denominations of $25, $50, $100 or higher. They are valid toward any session or print order. Gift Certificates can not be combined, are non-transferable, and you can only use them toward either the session or the print order.  They are a fabulous idea for a gift for a Baby Shower to the Mother to be, or for any other occasion.

So, that is what I have been up to.  I hope everyone is blessed!

I have been busy!

This month I have had 4 shoots that I have done. So, I have been busy!  I did some pictures of my own Dad and Step Mom with my kids.
Also, I shot photos for a sweet lady of her grandchildren while everyone was on vacation together.
I also had a super fun Senior shoot with yet another vacationer!  You have to come check out our SWFL beaches! We have no oil and they are beautiful!
Oh! And I got to do a creative shoot! This one was a blast!  Styling started at 6am and we ended up shooting from 10am - 2pm so it was a long day but worth every minute!
So, as you can see. I have been busy, but it has been awesome and so much fun!  I absolutely LOVE this, it isn't even a job or work to me, this is my heart, my passion, my joy...  I feel so Blessed by God, and I thank you all who support me!

YOU Are More

I wanted to share with everyone something that God has placed on my heart. He will not let me rest until I share, nor shall I rest until this message is heard. This is only one place it will be posted, only one outlet that will be used.

For months now, I have been carrying this feeling of "More", not physical, not material, but a " I just can't put my finger on it, but I KNOW, there is MORE". I have spent my days "aloof" because my Spirit was elsewhere, and many a night sleepless because my Spirit was being called.I have been tempermental, moody, down right grouchy sometimes as I have fought with this feeling, of this insatiable something that I didn't have knowledge of . I was in the Word, reading, seeking, praying, asking God to show me what would quench this feeling. I kept being led to scriptures speaking of the Giftings of God, of Brokeness, and of how a Mess could be turned into the Greatest of Messages...

But God, I still feel this "More" show me where it comes from. God gave me a dream, and in it, I saw people, they looked like me, like you, like the kid down the street that you're not too sure about, like the sad cashier at the drug store that you didn't give a second glance because you didn't have time. They were young, they were old, they were rich, they were poor. Some were clean, some were dirty. Some were cold, some were hungry. Some were fat, some were happy, some looked like all the world was their oyster. And they ALL were wearing those "My Name Is.." labels on their clothing with different words on them. In the dream, I was approached by a young man, he was dressed in black, he had tattoos and more piercings than I could count, his label said "Freak" - he helped me carry a package I was struggling with, I peeled his label off and another under it read "Alone" - so I talked with him, that label was removed, the next read "Genuine", then there was "Sincere", "Talented", "Honor Student", but the ones that got me the most were the last Two, "Hungry" & "Lost"

I woke up.

I cried, I prayed, I thought I was going crazy. Who gets stuff like this? You might think I'm crazy now, and you know, that's ok. God talks to me different than other people. He knows I respond to different things, and I'm ok with You thinking I'm crazy, because I know God has something up his sleeve for Me.

I prayed and I read some books trying to get insight into what I had saw, and for days I felt like I was never going to be answered, and then it happend. Just like the dream I had, as I prayed God let me in on a little more.

The young man was back, he looked happier than I had saw him before, he seemed much more sure of himself, he didn't have any of those silly labels on him, he was doing so much for others and then other people came around, and as they started to judge him by his clothing, by the tattoos, by the piercings, by their own fears of what was different from them, the labels started to come back, and this light that was in him started to grown dim, and I couldn't see the young man that had been there, but I could see a box that had been built around him.

My heart felt like it had broken into a thousand little pieces, my soul cried out for God to do something. And then God let me see, the box, the labels, they were all put in place because the young man wanted so desperately to fit in with the other people, that he placed some of the labels himself, he helped to build the box because it made him like everyone. It gave him a place to fit.

We were not designed appointed, or called to be "like everyone else". If God wanted his people to be uniform he would have made us like Cookie cutters, and we all would look and act and thing exactly the same. WE ARE SO MUCH MORE!! We have different talents, different gifts, each one as important as the others. Each one so full of annointing that when we catch hold of God its going to bubble up and explode like Mentos in a Dr. Pepper.

But, We have the ability to suffocate and lock away those special gifts and talents when we place labels on ourselves. The Bible tells us that we hold the Power of Life and Death in the Tongue. God said it, we have the power to speak Life or Death. You can speak Blessings upon your life and that of others, and you also can speak Ill and Harm. You reap what you sow. If you plant "good things" you will get "good things" and the same for harmful.

I understand that when you are a Teen/Young Adult you desire to fit in. We have all been there. I have been there. Sometimes I am still there. But God has finally opened my eyes to see that - I (WE) WAS NOT MADE TO BELONG TO THIS WORLD. - I can be a part of it without being in it. You will make some silly and down right Dumb decisions trying to fit in, in this world. You will find yourself in a heap of crap. But, God will take you, as messed up as you can get in it, and He Will Do a complete 180 with all that junk.

God can and He will make a Message out of Your Mess. Because You Are More! You are more than the labels you put on yourself. You are More than the labels other people give you, and you are SO MUCH MORE than what this World can make you. If you just call His Name, Make Him First, Let Him Show You What He Has Made You For!!

Remember the saying, "Show Me What Your Made Of?" Let God show you what you are REALLY made of.

SUMMER LOVIN

A  little recap of things going on around here:
Jackson Cole no longer has the ChixPox!  YAY!  He's back to being my sweet and rotten little boy. And I could be happier!
We're planning for his 1 yr Birthday Party!!! That part makes me want to cry.

Also, and this is a Blessing.  My summer is becoming very busy.  Seeing as I live in a Vacation Town and I have the beach so readily accessible my summer months are booking quickly!  I had fabulous hopes that this is what would be happening 4 months after starting up - so a great big THANK YOU to all who spread the word, had portraits taken, and who love to show them off!  You are a blessing and I LOVE being able to be a part of your memories!!!!!

So,  if you are interested in having portraits done in SWFL on your vacation, please do not hesitate to call me or send me a message VIA the website to set up an appointment!!!

God Bless Everyone! ♥

SEEING SPOTS

I have already accomplished more than I thought I would today.  I have showered, fed 2 children, sent 1 off with grandparents, and got the other to sleep.  Doesn't sound like much, but I'm working with about 3 hrs of sleep.

My Lil' Man has the Chicken Pox.  Its a pitiful sight to see such a little guy covered from head to toe in red itchiness.  Breaks this Momma's heart.

But, he's on the mend, and I have a bunch of work to do so I'm off to Photoshop. Somewhere in the midst of all this I'll remember that I'm supposed to eat as well or no one is going to continue to be taken care of properly.

Keni is 4!!

I'm only about 3 weeks behind on getting pictures done for my daughter's 4th birthday.  Needless to say, because a camera being around is the norm, she is not really that big of a fan of going to have her pictures taken. Luckily, she was in an especially good "Mommy time" mood.
I love how these turned out. I got to use the chairs I bought last month for the first time, and I got to test a new location.  All in all, a great shoot.  Plus!  There are even a couple of the two of us! I never get Mommy pictures!
Enjoy!
